Santa Claus Comes to Town - With a Little Help from W&H Tenants

Tenants of The Lincoln Building donated toys to support Women in Need, a community-based program sponsored by the Robin Hood Foundation. Each W&H building held a holiday toy drive in support of a different Robin Hood program.

One of the hallmarks of the W&H brand is our commitment to our community, evidenced by the wide range of activities organized by our buildings in recent months. These activities included blood drives, toy drives, and a building-wide Girl Scout Cookie Sale.

Blood drives were held at The Lincoln Building on October 18th and at 250 West 57th Street on November 29th. We thank the many tenants and staff who donated much-needed blood to the New York Blood Center. If you didn't have a chance to participate in one of our blood drives this year, don't worry -- there will be more opportunities to do so in 2006. Please keep your eye out for announcements from your building management.

Our portfolio-wide annual toy drive was also a great success. All of the unwrapped toys donated by tenants and staff went to organizations identified by the Robin Hood Foundation, which works to eradicate urban poverty by funding community-based programs. The recipients of the collected toys included Women In Need, Inc., which services homeless and disadvantaged families; The Family Center, which helps children whose parents have a life-threatening illness by providing comprehensive legal and social services, education and research; Little Sisters of the Assumption, a family health service that offers a wide range of health care and social services, education, advocacy and crisis counseling to families in East Harlem; and Iris House, which assists women and families who are infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.

One of our most popular events, the Girl Scouts' semi-annual Corporate Cookie Connection, took place at all W&H buildings on November 8th, to the delight of tenants, staff and visitors, who bought boxes and boxes of Samoas, Thin Mints, Tagalongs and Trefoils. Other cookie boxes, bought and designated as "Gifts of Caring," were sent to military men and women on duty overseas.

Proceeds from the Corporate Cookie Connection support educational and cultural programs for Girl Scouts in New York City. We look forward to welcoming the Girl Scouts back at the next event, which will be held in the spring.

"Office buildings don't exist in a vacuum; they're an integral part of the local community," says Anthony E. Malkin, president of Wien & Malkin Supervisory Services, the asset manager for the W&H Property portfolio. "Our tenants enjoy being able to make a difference without having to leave the buildings in which they work."

Cookies went like hotcakes at 501 Seventh Avenue during the Girl Scouts' semi-annual Corporate Cookie Connection sale, the proceeds of which support educational and cultural programs for Girl Scouts in New York City.
