One of the latest additions to W&H's prestigious tenant roster is Northrop Grumman Corporation subsidiary AMSEC LLC, which recently leased an 8,000-square-foot, high-end pre-built suite at 112 West 34th Street.

Headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia, AMSEC has approximately 2,000 employees in 28 locations nationwide and overseas, including Manhattan, where it has had a presence for 60 years.

AMSEC's services include naval architecture and marine engineering, security systems engineering, naval ship systems assessments, maintenance engineering, acquisition program development, shipyard industrial engineering, and complete logistics services ranging from technical manual development to provisioning documents, to spare parts management and training.

In New York, AMSEC is supporting NYC agencies such as the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) in the acquisition of new fireboats, marine aspects of refuse hauling for the Department of Sanitation New York (DSNY), and the Port Authority of NY/NJ in the development of security systems at all its facilities. Other AMSEC highlights were providing engineering and construction management at the Intrepid Aircraft Carrier Museum and engineering for vessels at the South Street Seaport; providing the naval architecture for the design of the detention facility at Hunts Point, built for the NYC Department of Corrections by Northrop Grumman's Avondale Shipyard; as well as supporting commercial ship-owners of containership and tanker fleets located in the New York area.

AMSEC is one of the largest service providers of naval architecture and marine engineering in the U.S. AMSEC's Manhattan office, which has 28 employees, focuses not only on naval architecture and marine engineering, but also on landside facilities and security, according to Dr. John C. Daidola, P.E., AMSEC's director of engineering, responsible for AMSEC engineering at all its facilities and located in New York.

"There were several factors underlying the firm's decision to move this office to 112 West 34th Street," he says. "The location is excellent, as it is situated in a major transportation hub at Penn Station. Our employees are excited about the new neighborhood. Also, the office layout appealed to us, along with the building's character and amenities."

"We're delighted to welcome AMSEC to the W&H portfolio," says Fred C. Posniak, senior vice president of W&H. "This is a perfect match between a great tenant and a great building."
