The eagerly anticipated opening of The Empire Room, the upscale cocktail lounge on the ground floor of the Empire State Building, took place at the end of March, to the delight of restaurant critics and oenophiles throughout New York City.

Florence Fabricant of The New York Times commented on the venue's "sophisticated style," noting that "it looks so right." Black Book magazine agreed: "The Lounge's Deco accents are a perfect match for the circa-1931 Empire State Building." And Time Out New York highlighted its signature drink - the Empire Cocktail, with ingredients of gin, vermouth, Royal Combier liqueur, lemon, raspberry-orange marmalade and champagne.

According to Fabricant, Mark Grossich of Hospitality Holdings, the creator of The Empire Room, said: "I feel like I'm giving the Empire State Building the cocktail lounge it deserves." We could not agree more.

The Empire Room is open daily from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. We hope you'll stop by and raise a glass to this wonderful addition to the World's Most Famous Office Building.
