It's not surprising that Ms. Zustovich feels this way. After joining the staff of 1359 Broadway in 2007, she helped to oversee the final phases of the building's $54-million upgrade program, which eventually led to the property's honor as the Building Owner and Managers Association (BOMA) Renovated Building of the Year. "1359 Broadway became a model for other W&H properties undergoing major upgrade programs," she comments. "It's very rewarding to have played a role in the upgrade process." Even though the renovations are complete, Ms. Zustovich is as busy as ever. "I do a little bit of everything," she says. "My role involves management, tenant interaction, administration, support, and problem solving. That's why I enjoy what I do - there's something different every day." Ms. Zustovich particularly loves working with W&H. As she points out: "W&H has it together. They know what they want, and they have high expectations. Because there are no gray areas, our jobs are easier." Previously, Ms. Zustovich served as Newmark Knight Frank's director of property administration, supervising all of the Property Management Department's policies, procedures, and administrative assistants at Newmark Knight Frank'smanaged properties. Before joining Newmark Knight Frank, she worked for ten years at Vornado Realty Trust, also specializing in property management, and for three years at SEIU 32BJ, the largest union of property services workers in the country. Property management was always the career she wanted, says Ms. Zustovich. To help attain this goal, she studied finance and accounting at Baruch College. "These are critical subjects for property managers," she notes. Although Ms. Zustovich was raised in Queens and lives there today, she appreciates Manhattan - especially the area surrounding 1359 Broadway. "It's a great neighborhood," she says. "There's always something going on and interesting things to see. And I love the new LF USA exhibit in the pedestrian walkway on Broadway." But the greatest attraction of the neighborhood for Ms. Zustovich is the building itself. "I'm continually amazed by what I see in even the tiniest corners of the property. You just don't see quality workmanship like this anymore." | |
