The second phase of an $80-million capital improvement program is well underway at 112 West 34th Street, directly across the street from Macy's flagship store. Included in this phase is the installation of a new, sleek, modern and energy-efficient glass curtain wall with operable windows (above right), renovated and air-conditioned public corridors, and upgraded restrooms. The first set of corridors and bathrooms has recently been completed.

The program's first phase centered on the renovation of the property's stone and marble lobby (above left), which now features a new undulating ceiling raised from 15 to 30 feet in height, a state-of-the-art security desk with concierge services, and new building entryways on 34th and 33rd Streets.
