W&H is only a few years old, but we have already established a tradition of community and charitable activities. During the spring, we added a new one to our list: City Harvest's "Feed the Kids" 2006 food drive.

With the help of our tenants and employees, who brought in a large supply of cans and dry goods, W&H donated an amazing 850 pounds of food to community programs that feed hungry families in New York City. According to City Harvest's executive director, Jilly Stephens, this amount translates into a meal a day for more than two dozen children for at least a month. That's certainly good news!

Ms. Stephens wrote a letter to W&H, acknowledging our "generous donation" and "hard work," and passing on "sincere thanks to all of those involved with the drive... and the buildings that served as collection sites."

W&H was thrilled with the level of involvement from our tenants, and we look forward to organizing next year's drive. In the interim, we are busy preparing for our fall blood drives, which will take place at each building in late October; our annual holiday toy drives; and the much beloved semi-annual Girl Scout's Corporate Cookie Connection, which will take place on Tuesday, November 7th.
